At its second edition, Moldova Case Challenge in the frame of the Balkan Case Challenge marked high results. The last year’s experience brought to a closer cooperation BCC Alumni, Companies and BCC team.
During 10-12th of April 2009, WUS Austria in partnership with Student Alliance from Moldova organized the Sub Competition of the project at the Free International University of Moldova.
Participants of 2009 were invited to several meetings of sharing experience with the BCC Alumni of 2006, 2007, and 2008. They received competent pieces of advice on how to prepare for the competitions, on how to point their attention to impress jury from the professional aspect and on how to present their solutions.
This year the logo of the BCC promotion in Moldova was set on: Apply now!- Vienna is waiting for YOU! This message followed the Moldova Case Challenge09* promotion announcements in press, youth/student forums, radio, universities.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Michael Schieder, Head of the Coordination Office for the Technical Cooperation of the Austrian Embassy in Chisinau, had mentioned the goal of the BCC as the greatest motivation for students to follow educational and professional experiences in their career. In this direction, Austrian Development Agency will focus its attention on the social projects for Moldova.
This year, the participants of the Business Competition had a unique chance to test their professional abilities in a real case study based on an actual banking problem: “How to reduce the percentage of the problematic/outstanding credits from the loan portfolio”. Mobiasbanca “Groupe Societe Generale” offered them the possibility to play the role of a financial consultant within the company pointing their attention to the investigation of the crediting sector in Moldova.
StarNet “Internet Solutions Provider” came with a creative topic for the ICT participants based on the marketing aspect in IT: “StarNet’s new re-branding policy”. Participants should concentrate their attention more on the creative part of the case study than to the technical aspect.
Participants’ impressions were the best, Alexei Panin (1st place ICT) mentioned: “I have applied to WIN, my expectations are attained more than 100 %”, Vlad Saran (MEC): “… for me, this competition was full of new knowledge and practice, for sure in 2010 I will go to Vienna!”, and the list doesn’t end here.
Partners are satisfied with the results and their representatives have already proposed their participation in the 3rd edition of the Moldova Case Challenge.
