Welcome to the BCC questions and answers section. Our answers reflect the most frequently asked questions on the case study competitions, the recruitment events and other fields of the BCC. These questions and answers came mostly from students. We hope you find them helpful and informative.

General Information about the BCC

I saw that there are several competitions. What is the difference between each competition?
Each applicant needs to qualify through the Sub-Competition in its home-country. The best 142 will be selected for the BCC10* - International Case Study Competition in Vienna. If you are interested in participating in the BCC, apply here.

Who does the pre-selection for the Sub-Competitions?
The pre-selection for the Sub-Competitions will be done by a panel of experts in Austria or in the respective country.

How can I submit the application?
As long as not all compulsory fields are filled in, you can only save the data in the application form. Once the application form is completed the button changes from “Save” to “Submit”. Only submitted applications will be considered.

Eligibility/How to Apply

Where can I find out, if I am eligible for the Balkan Case Challenge?

I have already finished my studies and am not a student anymore; can I still apply for the Balkan Case Challenge?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible for the BCC, when you are not a student at the time of application.

I am a student in the first year, can I still apply?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible for the BCC, because we are looking for advanced students which means that they need to finish their studies preferably within one year but within a maximum of two years.

I am a Bosnian citizen and I study in Germany. Can I apply?
Yes, you can apply for the Balkan Case Challenge. You are invited to participate in the Sub-Competition in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

I am a Serbian citizen and I study in Austria. Can I apply?
Yes, you can apply for the Balkan Case Challenge. You are invited to participate in the Sub-Competition in Austria.

I am 29 year old, can I still apply?
Yes, you can, but priority is given to applicants within the age limit. Please note that in the selection, we take several criteria into account and when the whole profile is excellent, one year above the age limit would not be a reason for exclusion.

What is the confirmation of studies?
The confirmation of studies is an official paper by your university/faculty confirming that you study there.

Should the confirmation of studies be in English?
No, we dont need an English translation of the confirmation of studies; it can be in your local language.

I participated in the BCC09*, can I apply again for the BCC10*?
You can apply again but preference is given to students who have not participated in previous BCCs. Hence, if both applicants are equally qualified, the BCC team will give priority to the applicant who has never participated in the BCC.
